01. Installation of Elango Tamil 2000 |
|
Contents: One Software CD, One Installation Manual.
To install Elango Tamil 2000 Keyboard Interface and Fonts, please follow the steps outlined below.
1.1.(a) Auto-Installation : Insert the Elango Tamil 2000 CD into the CD drive. This CD has an auto run facility. When you insert the CD into the CD drive, and double click your CD drive icon from "My Computer", the program will automatically start the installation process.
1.1.(b) Manual Installation : You can also install Elango Tamil 2000 manually through Windows Explorer. To open Windows Explorer, click on START => PROGRAMS => WINDOWS EXPLORER. Select the CD drive labeled as Elango. You will notice the following folders :
(i) Elango_Program : Contains all the programs, fonts, cliparts, etc.
(ii) AutoRun (file) : Contains the Auto-Installation program.
(iii) Installation Procedure : Contains the complete Installation procedure for installation of Elango Tamil 2000 in Help File format. To view, double click on this icon.
(iv) User Manual : Contains the detailed procedure for using Elango Tamil 2000 in various applications and details of various keyboards and usage in Word document.
(v) Elango Font Catalogue: The full catalogue of Elango Tamil Fonts and Cliparts and Borders are given in PDF format. You require Acrobat Reader for viewing this catalogue.
(iv) Acrobat Reader : Contains the full Acrobat Reader 3.0 installable version. You can install the free-ware program in your system for Viewing and Printing the Font Catalogues.
For auto-installation, double-click on the Auto-Install icon. To start the manual installation, open Elango Programs folder. Execute Setup (installation) file by double clicking on the Setup icon.
After 100% processing, this setup screen will take you to another window. The processing takes a few seconds to analyze your system.

1.2. Click on Next button to continue.
The next window appears as below.

1.3. In the above window, type the CD Key and the Activation Key to contiune the installation. The CD Key will be available on the CD cover. To get the Activation Key, send your CD Key No. and the Regn. No. (which is available in the above screen) to email : elangotamil@cadgraf.com or call on 0091-44-28269021, 28256812, 28223814, 28223824.
The Activation Key will be send it to you within 24 hours by email.
1.4. After typing the numbers in the three fileds, click on next button. The next window appears as shown below. |

Click on Next button
This will install the programs in the default folder - C:\Program Files\Elango\ ....(Recommended). In this window, you can select a different folder where you want to install the program and follow the instructions given in the window and press Next to continue.
1.5. The new window appears and it will take a few minutes to install all the files into your hard-disk.
1.6. After successful installation, the following message is displayed. Click on OK button.

After the installation, remove the CD and store them safely. You will require the CD for re-installation. However this program can be installed in ONE computer only. (Note : Improper handling of the CD or exposing them to excessive heat or humidity may damage the media and can be replaced at a cost and at the discretion of the manufacturer.)
Warning : In case of any Hard-Disk problems or require to format your harddisk, after format your harddisk, you have to use the same CD Key and Activation Key. So note the CD and Activation Key nos. somewhere in the manual. Otherwise, you will lose the program forever. Cadgraf Digitals Private Limited cannot take responsibility for such an eventuality.

02. How to start Elango Tamil 2000 |
2.1. To begin using Elango Tamil 2000 click on Start button (on the left bottom corner of the the computer screen), click-on " Program " => " Elango Windows Interface " => " Elango Tamil 2000 (like the below window).

2.2. You will now see the Elango Interface Window on your desktop.

Here you will see the Elango Tamil 2000 screen with the contact address of M/s Cadgraf Digitals Private Limited. When you click on the image screen, the image will disappear and you will see the Elango Keyboard Interface on the screen.

2.3 Follow the steps to type Tamil text in MS Word using Transliteration Keyboard Layout.
After opening Elango Tamil, select Transliteration option from Keyboard Layout menu.
In Font Encoding menu select TAB - Bilingual (for Elango Tamil Ulagam and Personal User). Elango Office and Professional Pack user can select either TAB or TAM encoding according to their need. (Refer Help menu for more details about TAB and TAM).
In Application menu select Word/Wordpad/Notepad.
Go to File menu, select Save Default. Click OK on Default Setting Saved Box.
Press Scroll Lock ON to type Tamil in MS Word/Wordpad... etc. (Caps Lock should be OFF)
Open MS Word, select any of the TAB font (Example : TAB_ELANGO_Barathi)
If you are not finding the TAB_ELANGO_Barathi, follow the steps to refresh your font folder.
a) Click on Start button, select Setting and select Control Panel.
b) In Control Panel double click on Fonts Folder.
c) In Fonts folder, select View menu and click on "Refresh"
d) After few second your new installed fonts has refreshed and display properly in your application packages (Word/Wordpad).
Now go to MS Word, select TAB_ELANGO_Barathi font in font window (for Elango Tamil Ulagam and Personal Users).. Elango Office and Professional pack users can select either TAB_ELANGO or -TAM_ELANGO fonts for their needs. (Refer Help menu for more details about TAB or TAM). Start typing Tamil text in MS Word. Here check whether your scroll lock key is in ON position. If it is not ON, press scroll lock once to switch ON.
If you want to type English in between Tamil text just press scroll lock OFF. Here you need not to change any english font. Using TAB_ELANGO_Barathi itself you can get English and Tamil characters (TAB - TAmil Bilingual).

Also refer to Section-D - Using Elango Tamil 2000 in different applications. Please refer to Section-E - Elango Tamil 2000 keyboard layout for details of using different Tamil keyboards.
Clipart/Image/Border Fonts : For using the Image and Border fonts, select the respective clipart and images, type respective Alphabets (lower case) mentioned in the font catalogue (PDF).
Sample Borders : Some pre-designed borders are also available in the Elango\samples folder in your system. These are available as Word Templates and as WMF (Windows Meta File) format.
